The Company

Salina Diamante Branco Ltda. (SDB) is a part of Sociedad Punta de Lobos S.A. (SPL), Chilean Group, which is the Latin America’s largest Salt producer. SPL is controlled by K+S Gruppe, German Corporation that acts worldwide in the Salt and fertilizer industries. Their Salt commercial volume surpasses 12 million metric ton / year with annual revenue exceeding US$ 4 billions.

SDB has been operating both in the domestic and external Salt market for over 10 years.

Its main office is located in Natal (RN), the production facility in Galinhos, 170 km from Natal, while its Direction, Planning and Finance Department, and Sales Department are sited in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

Group

Salina Diamante Branco Ltda. is owned by SPL. and SPL Brasil Empreendimentos e Participações Ltda.. The latter is the holding company in Brazil. Besides SDB, other subsidiaries and affiliates of SPL are Empremar S.A., a Chilean shipping company, and International Salt Company - LLC (ISCO), which distributes salt in the Unites States.

In Brazil, the group also holds shares of Salsul, a company located in Rio Grande (RS).
SPL is on the market for over 100 years, having grown massively since 2001. In July 2006, SPL was incorporated by the German group K+S, which now occupies the second position in the rank of the world’s leading salt companies and is the world’s largest individual salt producing company, with a capacity of around 16.6Mtpy.

Purpose and Quality

The goal of Salina Diamante Branco is to achieve excellence in the supply of sea salt for human consumption, animal consumption, and industrial use, always employing methods that ensure the high quality of its products and that are friendly to the environment.

The demands of our clients regarding price, quality, and supply logistics are becoming increasingly complex. Continuous improvement is the key to achieving our goals. In order to attempt to always meet our clients' requirements and develop a mutual trust which ensures the success of our enterprise, SDB was the first salt plant in Brazil to obtain ISO 9002 certification, successfully migrating to ISO 9001/2000.
